Check

Sanitary Check valves are designed so that process line medium is able to run freely in one direction only. The pressure of the fluid passing through the line opens the valve, while any reversal of flow will close the valve immediately. James Duva, Inc. offers two types of Check valve, both constructed with 316 stainless steel contact surfaces polished to a 32RA or better, and tri-clamp connections.

The Tri-Clamp Check valve consists of a body, a bonnet, a disk that is connected to a hinge, and a Viton® seat. When there is flow in the line, the disk is pushed away from the seat and the hinge opens, thus opening the valve. When there is no flow, the hinge closes and the disk seals against the seat. The Tri-Clamp Check valve is field serviceable, with replacement seats, seals and repair kits available if needed.

The Y-Ball Check valve has a PTFE ball that is used as a disk, which when closed, is perfectly set on the seat with full contact. When flow enters below the seat, pressure raises the ball from the seat, thus opening the valve. When flow stops or reverses, backflow and gravity force the ball downward to set on the seat and close the valve. The Y-Ball Check valve is field serviceable, with replacement seats available.

Sanitary Check valves are manufactured for use in applications that require sterile or hygienic processing. Commonly used in dairy, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, medical, and chemical applications, all valve contact surfaces are polished to prevent impurities from settling and corrupting your medium.
