Cap

Caps are a type of fitting used to terminate an open end of a pipe. The exterior of an industrial Cap is typically round, but can be square or rectangular. Caps attach to the exterior of a pipe via weld or NPT (nominal pipe thread). While a weld Cap will permanently terminate the line, a threaded Cap can be temporarily employed, with the line being easily reopened if required.

Threaded Caps are available in standard 150# and SP-114 castings, and forged pressure classes 3000# through 6000#. Weld Caps are available in a variety of pipe sizes and schedules, as well as in forged pressure classes up to 9000#.
