Nipple
A Nipple is a type of pipe fitting that is used to connect two elements of a piping system. A standard Nipple will be made of welded or seamless pipe and threaded on both ends, though they’re also available in the slightly less common TOE (thread one end) variation.
The non-threaded end will be square cut, though sometimes beveled, and welded in place.
This type of nipple can be purchased individually or in Nipple Runs, in standard sizes, and in custom sizes from Close all the way to a full length of pipe. James Duva, Inc. can cut and thread any Nipple to meet your requirements.
Swage Nipples are similar to standard pipe Nipples in that they connect two elements of a piping system. However, Swage Nipples are made of forged steel rather than pipe. They can be beveled, threaded, grooved or square cut, are used to join piping elements of different sizes, and can be concentric or eccentric in shape. Additionally, they range in length from 2.25” to 12” depending on the NPS of the larger of the two ends.
James Duva, Inc. supplies pipe Nipples in a wide range of alloy, schedule and pipe size.
Swage Nipples are available in 1/4”- 8” NPS, in S40/STD, S80/XH, S160 and XXH.
